RECOMMENDED (Although I Sold Mine)
Originally purchased for its lighter weight and smaller size compared to my Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8, I sold this lens after eight months. This was a good lens and certainly much easier to carry around then the hefty Nikon 24-70 f/2.8. The added reach from 70mm to 85mm was also a positive.
While it produced good pictures it seemed a little soft in the corners and just didn’t deliver pictures with an overall punch like my 24-70 f/2.8. I found it to just be an OK performer overall.
With a very useful focal range for FX, this lens is perfect for family events, graduations and vacations. If you are looking for that super sharp image from corner to corner for sunrises and, this lens will leave you wanting more.
A recommended lens if your needs are more casual.
