Well here it goes! I finally decided to start a photography blog. Many photographers find themselves here at some point in their journey. I will be filling my blog with the content that I always hoped to find… simple to the point reviews, based on my experience and lacking over complicated technical jargon along with simple easy to understand tips based on what has worked for me. My hope is that you will be able to find something useful here no matter how big or small.
Here are a few disclaimers moving forward. I make no claim to be any sort of expert, master or authority when it comes to photography, the internet has plenty of those. I have been a full-time real estate professional for 22 years and simply have a HUGE passion for photography.
Other than a high school photography class (film) and one photography workshop (a complete let down) all of my learning about photography has been through books, Google and Youtube. The internet is a great resource but with so much information at times it can be confusing.
I have certainly logged plenty of pictures that were epic fails. After 27 years, 10 cameras and surely over a million shutter clicks, I just now feel like I have a solid base to continue learning from. Here is a quick look at my camera body timeline progression.
Pentax k2 (film), Nikon 4004s (film), Nikon D40 (only camera to stop working), Nikon D60, Nikon D90, Nikon D7000, Nikon D610, Nikon D500, Nikon D7100, NikonD750.
I will end this post with three great quotes about learning. Thanks so much for stopping by!
“The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.”-Socrates
“We learn from failure, not from success.”-Bram Stoker
“The more I learn, the more I realize, the less I know.”-Michel Legrand
